A Healing Town

I had an idea today (wow, newsflash, I hear you say) BUT ..... I'm quite excited about this one. Whenever I have an idea that I think will 'stick' I go a bit red in the face over the next few hours as my brain chuggs through stuff - not a great look for me, but that's the way it is. Annnnnyhoo....

This morning, some people asked me to be the treasurer (how ironic) for the reincarnation of an old food and music festival we used to have in my little village, Cooran, which means Guran… Continue

oooh Jo it turned out YUM O ! Now I remember why I asked for this recipe ! so glad you wrote it for me! I am transported back to the moment I had it ! This is one of the reasons I felt like making it, because I wanted to re visit with you and how I felt with your gracious hospitality ! thank you JO! This is one of the reasons why food is so special to me, and I take great care what I eat and with whom.....because it creates permanent memories, and in this case I wanted to remember being there.

Jo I'm thinkg of you big time today ! I got up early to make some yumO dishes in the kitchen and I am now just making the red lentil dal you made and gave me a recipe for. But I didn't have the garam masala....so I googled, got a recipe, had all the ingredients, and made my own batch now neatly jarred and labeled ! .....so I'm on the sauteing of the ginger and onion now....will let you know how it turns out.....if I remember being there at the time then I will have done well !.....we shall see......

Thanks Jo for your appreciation, I really enjoy creating my space of love. I like your Healing Town concept. Would be a great way to bring back the wisdom about the healing plants and create a system of keeping them safe. Arohanui Savitri

Thank you, Jo. I appreciate your kind words.

I do respond to RCR activity that directly concerns me - whatever comes to my yahoo account. I am just not reading all of the discussions so I stay focused on our settlement set-up. There is a lot of work fulfilling the grant requirements.

Heart to Heart,
Mary

Jo...so sorry....I've been trying only a little to find those recipes...and cannot come up with anything yet. It's so hot and humid here, I cannot even think of warming foods right now. Let me work on this when I have the motivation....cold will do it....but it may take a while.
Blessings

Thanks Jo,
Believe it or not I wrote that song in fifteen minutes or so as I was just spending time with Father and He gave me this song as He wanted me to come dance with Him/Her, Creator. Like a kid dancing with His dad or mom. The song was just Him calling to His kids. It was special.

Love this music Sis,
Very heart felt. Made me want to put my hand in the air and sway to the Universal Love coming through the vibes. In fact I think I will. LOL

You know....in the beginning I thought RF purist was the way to go....and it still may be....but there is the in between time that is important for so many.....too quick and one can falter back real quick too. I do raw as often as possible, but when I want something cooked I have it....and btw....I did have that rappini in garlic oil today over angel hair pasta.....and I feel fine. Breakfast was handfuls of brazil, macadamia nut and dried prunes....then lunch was pineapple....the rappini/pasts was like the icing on the cake of culinary delight today! Anyway, I feel that the only one to tolerate what ones eats should be the one eating....others would do well to tolerate ones decisions. When I get cold, believe it or not here in Florida we can have a few days of winter..lol....I do like a hot meal.....I think fires were meant for that.....soups are heavenly! Especially for those of us who've eaten cooked all our lives and have little digestive enzymes to do 100% raw....I feel it is ok. OK....Off my rant...
Raw food for winter?? Since we really don't have them, only a few days....I'm not really savvy on that. But I WILL look into it as I wonder how to do that anyway....for when I do move. Let me research that and test the recipes and get back to you...OK ?
Well let me give you the recipe for the Yogi Golden Milk...this is one that sounded so strange to me I tried it just out of curiosity....it was so heavenly it became my nightly drink....I felt really special when I drank it just before bed and slept well too.....hummm....I must make some tonight....here goes:
Golden Milk:
toast in a shallow pan 1/4 teaspoon cardamon seeds in a tablespoon of water
add 1 teaspoon - 1 tablespoon turmeric powder....very medicinal stuff! let that heat up till scent fills the air
add a cup of almond milk and warm up
then take that mixture and put into a blender
add maple syrup or honey to taste
and 3 tablespoons of almond oil.....and blend ...remove and enjoy just before bed....a bit of heaven!
Enjoy

How DO you guys get music on your page??
Sorry Jo I read the few posts below and felt I was eavesdropping but couldn't stop myself... for the winter....to have warm things....why not have raw foods and hot soups too? Why not both? Also there are teas you can have very warm, yes? along with a yogi drink made with turmeric, cardamon seeds, almond oil and almond milk....heated and this is very warm soothing and feels delicious...then there is always cayenne pepper. I do eat raw as often as possible, but when I want cooked veggies like rappini sauted with garlic and olive oil...I will have that too. Just my ideas.
